Panashe Jinga Trainee
You can shape your own journey here.
There’s a big focus on helping you find what you want to do, which is a great way to start your career.

Work here is demanding but we still have fun.
We are producing the highest-quality service but there are also opportunities to get involved in pro bono work, business development and social events. There are also lots of network societies and sports teams which we’re given time to attend.
Diversity at Freshfields
I am a member of our Black Affinity Network and we have intellectually stimulating meetings, events, panels and discussions. I would advise graduates to choose a firm that has a culture that syncs with your personality. I spent time here with the Stephen Lawrence Scholarship scheme and I have found Freshfields to be a welcoming place where you don’t have to change your personality to “fit in”.
Freshfields in three words?
Demanding, inclusive, rewarding
What does Freshfields expect of trainees?
Freshfields trainees need to be open-minded. You need to work hard, go the extra mile, work the extra hour and strive to be better. Keeping up-to-date on legal and market developments is also important.
